Update: They moved us to a new room that was very clean and immediately felt better. It was like being in a different hotel. No idea why or how the first room was such a drastic difference. Mack, the front desk associate, was great throughout our stay, but the day staff need a bit more training in customer service. They don’t seem to like people in general and they hide a lot. Breakfast was much better on the weekend. The pool was great. WiFi in the room was excellent. 10/30/25: Check in was a breeze, and Mack is simply wonderful. He gave excellent customer service and deserves recognition for it! However, everything else about this hotel is a huge disappointment. We’ll be here for another four days and I’ve never felt so much regret in choosing an accommodation. :( The first issue was the scent plug-ins all over. That’s concerning for several reasons, not least of which is the toxicity of those devices. The second issue is the door latch is broken and no one has come to fix it as of noon the today, and I could do it myself but I don’t want to be charged for trying to fix it. It clearly needs a new position as the current spot is completely stripped and the screws that are left aren’t secure and fall out. Third, the hotel looks old and very dilapidated. Every chair is torn up or dirty. One chair has a staple sticking out of it that cut me when I tried to move it. The beds have clean linens, but everything else is dirty. EVERYTHING. The bathroom has multiple spots of something that looks like blood. I’m scared to even shower in it. I was hoping maybe breakfast the next morning would be a pleasant experience, but that was also terrible. Right away, the high chairs were absolutely caked and crusted with food. This lack of cleanliness is shocking. While the food choices are plenty and there are several hot items, it just wasn’t what it seemed in the photos in the advertisement. I’m so disappointed. I thought because I got a suite it would be nice, but I really regret choosing this hotel. It’s absolutely not worth the price. And to be clear, I paid just a few dollars less per day than another hotel down the road that is a well known, highly rated hotel. I chose this one based on the reviews. I have no idea how this hotel is getting high reviews. Are the reviewers at the same hotel I am?

My stay was superb. Keith, the front desk agent, was affable and helpful. He helped me get a comfortable and quiet room, set me up with the shuttle, and smoothed out some questions I had with my reservation. I will be recommending this hotel to the people I know.

Great hotel, excellent staff, well-managed hotel within walking distance of shops like Total Wine and Trader Joe's. The front desk staff were really on top of it and friendly and maid/cleaning staff really do a great job even though I didn't need them most days. The hallways and lobby were clean. I didn't have time to check out the breakfast but people seemed to be enjoying it in the large dining area. This hotel has a free shuttle and it was right there at 4am when I needed a ride to the airport. Very professional and I'll be back.

I haven’t even been here for half of my stay and I am amazed and so grateful for the team that works here! The rooms, they’re super clean and roomy! The breakfast is so delicious, was not expecting such a large spread with so many different options! The best part is really the team working here, the front desk agents made me feel welcomed and with some requests (I’m fairly difficult due to accommodations, least I know it) they made me feel like I wasn’t even asking for anything out of the ordinary and not only fulfilling my requests they made me feel like a valued guest! Housekeeping is extremely friendly and l commend them for their hard work because this is the cleanest hotel I’ve been at… I think ever. I’m so excited! And I’m not even halfway though my stay however I have to review the amazing experience thus far. Thank you Holiday Inn Express W Bloomington, keep up the great work. I’m spreading the word, I highly recommend staying here!

We've stayed here many, many times as loyal IHG members and this location is always pleasant. The front desk and housekeeping staff are always friendly and polite, and help out with anything we need. The rooms are usually very clean (we did find a chocolate candy left behind by a previous guest once), and the entire hotel is always very presentable. There's always a great selection at breakfast, but if the food there doesn't catch your interest, there are some restaurant spots very close by. The location itself is great, too, because you can either drive or Uber/Lyft to just about any spot within a few minutes.

This hotel was an excellent stay from start to finish. The pool was clean and relaxing, and the complimentary breakfast was a great bonus. Management clearly cares about the guest experience, and the staff truly made the stay outstanding—friendly, helpful, and welcoming at every interaction. The location is perfect: close enough to city life for convenience, but with the safety and calm of the suburbs. Overall, a 10/10 experience, and I will definitely stay here again.

Decided to try a different hotel and stayed here. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all extremely friendly. When we went to go swimming i was a little worried it was so dark in there (it was night time) but the water was the warmest pool water I've ever been in. My toddler loved it! The breakfast in the morning was good and had a lot of different options. We'll be staying here again for sure. Also a plus, trader joes is right across the street!

Kylee was amazing and really went above and beyond for our needs!! I think this location is worth it vs other Holiday inns- you got Trader Joe’s and variety of other shops around within walking distance (3 mins). The room was about what you’d expect, but I personally had no real issues. Overall was happy and the front desk (Kylee!) made our stay really comfy!!
